Job summary

Rivers Health is seeking a Gift Shop Associate to support daily operations of the hospital gift shop. The role emphasizes customer service, inventory control, and a welcoming atmosphere for volunteers and guests.

The incumbent will help reconcile cash receipts, schedule volunteers, and ensure the shop remains clean, stocked, and visually attractive, while communicating issues to the Director as needed. Experience in retail management and MS Office skills are required, with a focus on teamwork

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management or hospital gift shop operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise volunteers and coordinate schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Inventory control.
• Reconcile daily cash, payroll, and credit card receipts.
• Scheduling and training volunteers.
• Updating and maintaining policies and procedures.
• Oversees new shipment, including stocking, pricing, and merchandising.
• Provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for volunteers, fosters positive morale.
• Puts customers first and is responsive to customer requests.
• Ensures gift shop is properly stocked, clean, organized and attractive.
• Communicates potential problems to the Director in a timely manner, provides problem-solving input.
• Experience in the management of a retail shop.
• Supervisory skills with a talent for empowering responsible and self-motivated sales associates.
• Capacity to be self-directed while working as a member of a larger team.
• Desire to build a top-notch hospital system Gift Shop.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
