Job summary

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Worker to support patient dining, retail dining, and kitchen operations with emphasis on food safety and customer service. Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM, onsite at 1153 Centre Street.

You will participate in meals tray assembly and delivery, maintain sanitation, and assist with onboarding and cross-training. High school diploma preferred; prior food service or healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
• Previous food service, hospitality, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in department meetings, training sessions, and monthly in-services as assigned.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by anticipating needs and resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and food service stations.
• Follow all HACCP food safety and sanitation standards.
• Report concerns, discrepancies, equipment issues, or product shortages to leadership.
• Support department goals and initiatives focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Work in a variety of food service areas, including tray line, cafeteria, patient meal service, and kitchen operations.
• Set up, stock, and replenish food stations for meal service.
• Assemble patient meal trays and serve food and beverages to customers.
• Deliver meals to patient rooms and retrieve trays as needed.
• Clean workstations, equipment, and floors following meal periods.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as dish machines and trash compactors and perform routine cleaning duties, including mopping floors.
• Prepare food items to support patient meal service and cafeteria operations.
• Complete assigned sanitation and cleaning projects.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and cross-training of team members.
