Job summary

Compass Group in Murfreesboro, TN, is seeking the Associate Director of Food & Nutrition Services to oversee patient dining, retail dining, and catering in an acute care hospital. This leadership role partners with department leaders to ensure exceptional patient and customer experiences, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong financial performance.

You will develop teams, manage labor, food costs, and quality initiatives while maintaining high safety standards and ServSafe

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive healthcare foodservice management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (Food Service Management, Hospitality, Nutrition).
• RD/RDN or CDM certification preferred.
• Experience overseeing patient, retail, and catering operations.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and financial management skills.
• Experience with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• ServSafe certification required or obtainable within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient dining, retail, and catering operations daily.
• Ensure food quality, service standards, sanitation, and safety.
• Support labor, food cost, inventory, and budget management.
• Drive quality improvements to boost patient and guest satisfaction.
• Develop and mentor managers and frontline staff.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor metrics to drive continuous improvement.
