Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure a safe, comfortable environment by keeping facility systems fully functional. The role involves performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and rounds, while coordinating with staff and responding to emergencies.

A strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is essential, along with the ability to use a range of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
Six years of building maintenance, plant operation, construction, or related experience is preferred but not required.
In depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment; ability to safely use tools and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs repair and preventive maintenance in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems in compliance with regulations.
Troubleshoots and repairs equipment malfunctions and conducts routine rounds of the facility.
Provides technical direction to lower level maintenance staff and communicates status to customers.
Maintains logs, enters work requests, and coordinates with other departments for repairs and replacements.
Responds to emergencies and supports hospital operations during outages or repairs.
