Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and preventative maintenance on hospital facilities and equipment. You will ensure safe, reliable operations of building systems, respond to requests, and support repairs as needed.

The role requires basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or related systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on hospital building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to ensure safe, continuous facility operations.
• Support repairs, troubleshooting, and general upkeep of equipment and facility systems.
• Assist with facility improvement projects, including renovations, installations, and minor construction work.
• Participate in fire and life safety inspections, drills, and corrective actions to ensure safety standards.
