Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician to ensure facilities and medical equipment are maintained in good order. The role requires identifying repairs, managing maintenance tasks, and coordinating with hospital leadership across the Norfolk region.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s in Construction or Facilities Management and at least three years of related experience, plus knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry basics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Facilities Management preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in construction or maintenance.
• Working knowledge of construction terms, blueprints, and basic electrical/plumbing repairs.
• Experience with power tools and building construction methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, manage, and perform facility repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Paint, cabinetry, laminate, drywall, electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Manage maintenance work orders and coordinate timelines.
• Inspect and document facility damages and plan variances.
• Coordinate travel within MVH guidelines.
• Purchase and maintain hospital maintenance materials.
• Some travel required.
• Other duties as assigned.
