Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in the Boston area is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician to uphold facility conditions across the North Boston region. The role requires managing repairs, preventive maintenance, and coordinating with hospitals and field leaders to ensure timely completion.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in construction or facilities management and at least three years of maintenance experience, with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and building construction practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Facilities Management or a similar field is preferred.
• Three years of experience in Construction or Maintenance are required.
• Working knowledge of construction terms, blueprints, troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, casework, and general building constructions is required.
• Experience with building construction power tools, electrical, plumbing, drywall repair, paint, cabinetry, laminate, tile installation and repair is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Identify, manage, perform, measure, schedule and track facility repair and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Paint, cabinet repairs, drywall and ceiling repairs, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, lighting and flooring maintenance.
• Manage in-house maintenance work orders, schedules, and communicate timelines to hospitals and coordinators.
• Source, hire, and manage painting contractors within region; perform medical equipment preventive maintenance; report damages and variances.
