Job summary

The General Maintenance Worker/Fireman Second Class at Signature Healthcare, MA services and repairs electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, and related hospital equipment. You monitor the boiler plant to ensure heat and sterilization needs are met and perform routine maintenance as scheduled.

Requires a High school diploma, 5 years in plant maintenance, and a MA Second Class Fireman license; trade education is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance; 3–5 years preferred for boiler/fireman duties.
• Second Class Fireman's license in MA required.
• Knowledge of DPS regs and safety codes for boiler operations.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC and related systems.
• Monitor boiler plant and ensure adequate steam supply for heat and sterilization.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on equipment, fixtures and grounds.
• Interpret instructions and coordinate with patients, physicians, and vendors.
