Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support hospital facilities across our campuses. You will execute preventative maintenance, repairs, and tests on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems to ensure reliable patient care environments.

This role requires hands-on craftsmanship, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and flexibility to cover shifts as needed. Licensing in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is preferred, and a valid driver's license may be

Qualifications

• Experience in preventative maintenance across hospital systems is required.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds and work in various positions.
• May require valid driver’s license and shift flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Test and operate emergency power supply system (EPSS) and components.
• Install/maintain/repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frame under supervisor guidance.
• Retain skills in auto, carpentry, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related areas.
• Plan, interpret, examine, draw, and record work; report daily completion.
• Perform control maintenance, building repair, and equipment overhaul as required.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
