Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repairs of building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The role requires timely response to issues, preventive maintenance, and coordination with contractors to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualified candidates will have a Minnesota Boiler’s license (or higher) or be able to obtain within 90 days, along with electrical licensing eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.
• Minnesota Boiler’s License or higher required (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Registered Electrician license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in building maintenance or a similar trade.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Respond to emergencies quickly and coordinate with outside contractors when needed.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records.
