Job summary

North Knoxville Medical Center seeks a Maintenance Engineer II to ensure the functionality, safety, and compliance of healthcare facility systems and equipment. You will perform advanced maintenance tasks, repairs, and installations.

This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as hospital-specific equipment, and you may assist in supervising entry-level engineers to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or formal training in facility maintenance or related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in facilities maintenance/engineering required.
• 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance/engineering in a hospital/healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems and hospital equipment.
• Responds to work requests and trouble calls promptly and professionally.
• Ensures maintenance activities meet safety regulations and hospital standards (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission).
• Addresses urgent repair requests to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
• Maintains records of maintenance activities and equipment performance for management reporting.
