Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to ensure safe, compliant operation of hospital facilities. The role focuses on advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and hospital equipment.

The engineer will respond to urgent issues, supervise entry-level engineers when needed, and help manage maintenance records, budgets, and parts to support reliable patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or formal training in facility maintenance preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or engineering required.
• 3-5 years in a hospital/healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems and hospital equipment.
• Responds to work requests and pages promptly and professionally.
• Ensures maintenance activities meet safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission).
• Addresses urgent repair requests to minimize disruptions to operations.
• Performs regular inspections and maintains hospital buildings and infrastructure.
• Keeps accurate records of maintenance work, orders, and equipment performance.
