Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Maintenance Engineer II to ensure hospital systems operate safely and reliably. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and hospital equipment, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

You will also document maintenance actions, support budget tracking, and help supervise entry-level engineers to maintain facility uptime and patient care quality.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or formal training in facility maintenance or related field (preferred).
• 2-4 years of facilities maintenance/engineering experience required.
• 3-5 years in hospital/healthcare maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and hospital equipment.
• Responds to work requests and trouble calls promptly.
• Ensures maintenance activities meet safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission).
• Maintains records of maintenance, work orders, and equipment performance for reporting.
• Assists with budget tracking and procurement of maintenance supplies and parts.
• Maintains logs of work performed and equipment status for oversight.
