Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an EVS Tech II to join its Environmental Services team. The role involves cleaning patient rooms, offices, and treatment areas during the 4:00 PM–12:30 AM shift, with every-other-weekend requirements.

You will follow isolation and safety protocols, restock supplies, and maintain clean, organized spaces across the hospital. Qualified candidates will follow instructions, communicate effectively with patients and staff, work independently when needed, and contribute

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication with patients, visitors and staff.
• Use proper tracking and communication tools used by department.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily.
• Follows isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas.
• Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition.
• Promotes safety in the workplace and uses PPE appropriately.
• Uses chemicals and equipment safely and at proper dilutions.
• Reports equipment repairs and safety hazards to supervisor.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and proactively addresses deficiencies.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Explains scripted information to customers as needed.
• Uses resources efficiently and manages time effectively.
• Participates in continuous improvement and cost-reduction efforts.
• Presents a friendly, professional demeanor and provides timely information to patients and customers.
• Uses service recovery skills to resolve problems.
• Demonstrates teamwork across departments.
