Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services Tech II to maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, and treatment areas with a focus on cleanliness and safety. This full-time role runs on a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

with alternating weekends and holidays within the Northwestern Medicine system. You will follow isolation policies, protect patient confidentiality, and contribute to cost reductions and continuous service improvements while delivering friendly,

Qualifications

• Must exhibit the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff.
• Must be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily.
• Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area.
• Promotes safety in the workplace and uses PPE appropriately.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment needing repairs and reports safety hazards to manager.
• Communicates to supervisor any issues and coordinates with Call Center as needed.
• Establishes relationships with hospital personnel while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrates teamwork and effective communication across departments.
