Job summary

Mercyhealth is hiring an Environmental Services technician to perform comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of hospital facilities. The role requires strict adherence to infection prevention standards, proper chemical handling, and safe operation of cleaning equipment.

You will coordinate with supervisors to ensure areas like patient rooms and shared spaces meet hygiene expectations. The position emphasizes timely response to calls, maintaining supplies, and supporting department policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors and showers.
• Perform high and low dusting, mop floors, vacuum carpet, and clean door frames and ceiling vents.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart and equipment in a neat and orderly manner; report safety hazards or repairs.
• Replenish paper, soap supplies and hand sanitizer; replace cubicles/drapes per policy.
• Follow isolation procedures and Infection Prevention standards; use proper chemicals for pathogens.
