Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to thoroughly clean assigned hospital areas, maintain supplies and equipment, and support department safety protocols. You will follow infection prevention standards, manage waste safely, and coordinate with departments for special projects.

Training on EPIC bed tracking and Xenex UV Light may be provided where available. The role emphasizes accurate chemical mixing, PPE use, and adherence to safety guidelines in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean assigned areas (furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc.).
• Adhere to organizational policies and Infection Prevention Standards.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart, and equipment; report safety hazards or repairs.
• Replenish paper, soap, and hand sanitizer; hang cubicles/drapes per policy.
• Coordinate special projects and post informational signs.
• Move furniture and equipment following safety and lifting procedures.
• Mix and store chemicals with correct dilution; use PPE as required.
• Prepare beds in designated areas and manage EPIC bed tracking when applicable.
• Dispose of waste per regulations and complete DOT requirements as needed.
