Job summary

Butler Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and service assigned areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition, following Butler Hospital Service Standards.

The role involves maintaining an organized cleaning cart, disposing of waste, disinfecting restrooms, replenishing supplies, and performing floor care and bed-related tasks during patient discharges or transfers. On-the-job training is provided for this 40/80 Full Time Days - Float schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• On the job training is provided

Responsibilities

• Maintains a cleaning cart in an orderly condition, keeping the cart fully stocked with required cleaning supplies.
• Responsible for removal of all waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, recycle confidential paper, hazardous material.
• Follow proper procedures concerning hazardous waste disposal and handling.
• Cleaning and disinfecting of restrooms completely.
• Replenishes all supplies: soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and paper towels.
• Daily disinfecting of all assigned areas: offices, corridors, elevators, stairwells, patient rooms and beds for vacant rooms.
• Performs project work: wall washing, window washing, curtain changing, floor buffing, scrubbing, carpet cleaning.
• Operates heavy-duty equipment: wet vacuums, extractors, buffers, floor machines, auto scrubbers, upholstery machines, pressure washers, steamers.
