Job summary

Care New England's Butler Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and service a designated hospital area, maintaining sanitary and orderly conditions. You will follow service standards and support infection control through thorough cleaning and waste disposal.

Responsibilities include stocking carts, cleaning restrooms, disinfecting areas, operating cleaning equipment, moving furniture, and assisting with bed moves.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• On the job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an orderly cleaning cart stocked with supplies.
• Removes waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, paper and recyclables.
• Disposes hazardous waste according to procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms completely.
• Replenishes soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and towels.
• Disinfects daily in offices, corridors, elevators and patient rooms.
• Performs projects like wall/window washing and floor care.
• Operates heavy cleaning equipment such as vacuums and buffers.
• Moves furniture and sets up conference rooms.
• Transports soiled/clean linens and changes beds as needed.
• Notes mechanical issues and completes work orders.
• Provides training to staff when needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
