Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance required
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste in compliance with infection control standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules effectively

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing to maintain cleanliness and safety
• Collects and disposes of waste following hospital policies and regulatory guidelines
• Handles soiled linens and replaces with clean bags, ensuring proper containment
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, halls, offices, and common areas per infection control standards
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection and safety measures
• Moves furniture, mats, and equipment as needed for cleaning or relocation
• Monitors cleaning supply usage and stores supplies safely
• Communicates maintenance and repair needs to supervisor/facilities
• Maintains cleaning logs and reports tasks completed
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance
• Complies with all policies and standards
