Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I to join our day shift team. The role involves daily cleaning of patient rooms, restocking supplies, and discharge room cleaning using established procedures to maintain a safe, hygienic environment.

You will follow infection control practices, operate cleaning equipment, and participate in UV-light terminal cleaning as needed. A High school diploma is preferred and 2 years of related experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Annual respiratory mask fitting and recertification training mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of patient rooms, supplying rooms with paper products, and discharge room cleaning.
• Daily cleaning of support service areas as assigned.
• Use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment, and tools safely and effectively.
• Perform discharge cleaning and terminal cleaning with UV light where applicable.
• Follow discharge procedures and maintain high QA scores.
• Support other areas to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
