Job summary

The Environmental Services Worker cleans patient rooms and general spaces across the health system facilities following safe work practices and infection control procedures. This role works to maintain all designated areas are kept in optimal cleaning standards according to established disinfection and sterilization guidelines and practices.

Days: ECB status with a minimum monthly hour commitment and weekend availability; shift from 7:30am to 4:00pm with limited benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions and signage.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing in patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Maintains floors by cleaning, buffing, applying sealant/finish; vacuums carpets.
• Operates power equipment and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance.
• Performs waste collection and disposal, including recycling and biomedical waste.
• Prepares cleaning solutions, uses appropriate methods and equipment for surfaces.
• Restocks supplies such as toilet paper, towels, and soap.
• Supports bed tracking tasks and reports maintenance needs to management.
