Job summary

University Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment across patient and non-patient areas. You will use approved cleaners and germicides to clean rooms, corridors, restrooms, and other spaces, and handle linen and waste disposal as part of daily duties.

The role requires strong English communication and reliability; prior institutional environmental services experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Keeps patient and non-patient areas clean, safe and orderly.
• Cleans hospital rooms, baths, labs, offices, corridors and other areas using approved germicides.
• Strips linen, washes beds and remakes beds after discharge.
• Dusts, empties waste containers, washes walls and windows, polishes metalwork.
• Transports trash to disposal area.
• Performs light moves and set ups.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
