Job summary

Sanford Health in Kansas is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment in patient rooms and common areas, following infection control and safety guidelines. You will perform duties such as waste disposal, floor care, and general cleaning.

This role may require varied hours including weekends/holidays, and prior housekeeping experience is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer use are beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient rooms and shared areas following infection-control guidelines.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors and clean with appropriate equipment.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology as needed.
• Work hours vary by location and may include overtime, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
