Job summary

Sanford Environmental Services Technician maintains a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas by following infection control and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas to meet health standards; using PPE; keeping areas stocked; and assisting in laundry as needed.

Role may involve varying hours, overtime, and weekend work, with day shifts in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile environment for patients, residents and staff following infection control guidelines.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and other areas to meet health standards.
• Wear appropriate PPE and keep storage and carts clean and stocked.
• Operate cleaning equipment and technology as needed and available.
• Assist in laundry areas when appropriate and adapt to varying shifts.
