Job summary

Sanford Health in South Dakota is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, clean environment in patient rooms and public areas.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, emptying waste, following infection control guidelines, and assisting in laundry when needed. Must have high school diploma or equivalent; six months of cleaning experience preferred; good customer service and teamwork required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and other work areas to health standards.
• Wear proper protective equipment and keep storage, equipment and carts clean and tidy.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate; may use technology applications as available.
• Lift up to 40-50 lbs and be on feet for the majority of the shift; may include overtime or variable shifts.
