Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas and public spaces. You will follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines to keep areas clean.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and other areas; wearing PPE; assisting in laundry as needed; and using cleaning equipment. Overtime and varied shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile environment in patient/resident areas and facility staff areas.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms and other areas to meet health standards.
• Wear proper protective equipment and keep storage, equipment and carts tidy.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and operate cleaning equipment when needed.
• Work hours may include overtime, nights, weekends and holidays depending on location.
