Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a General Cleaner in Environmental Services to maintain a clean and sanitized hospital environment. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing and dusting, plus operating cleaning machinery as instructed.

The role requires basic education (HS Diploma or GED preferred) and the ability to read and follow English instructions. Benefits include competitive pay and growth opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Learn and perform basic housekeeping practices per hospital policies.
• Operate power cleaning equipment as trained.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleaning of assigned areas following hospital procedures.
• Operate vacuums, floor scrubbers, burnishers, buffers and wall washers.
• Prepare patient rooms for occupancy and sanitation after discharge/transfer.
• Clean refrigerators, stoves, ovens and other equipment as needed.
• Set up and clean meeting rooms per department specifications.
