Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I at York Hospital to join the 2nd shift. This full-time role includes 80 hours biweekly with rotating weekends and holidays and a starting pay rate of $18.50+ per hour for experience in a hospital setting.

The position focuses on general cleaning in patient rooms and facilities, moving furniture as needed, and supporting infection control and safety standards across the environmental services team.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, understand and speak English.
• Less than 1 year of relevant environmental services experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of the Environmental Services Technician I.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
• Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture; cleans vents, fans, and other equipment using vacuum machines.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums.
• Sets up chairs and tables for events and stores them after the event.
• Moves large items in and out of storage.
• Performs custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Assists in handing drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
