Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore is seeking a dedicated hospital housekeeper to maintain clean, sanitary patient care areas under direct supervision, following departmental policies and safety standards.

You will perform a variety of duties including cleaning, mopping, stocking supplies, handling discharge room cleaning with fresh linen, reporting maintenance needs, and logging tasks to ensure consistent, high-quality cleanliness and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient and workforce safety as it relates to housekeeping duties.
• Ability to meet age-specific needs if applicable.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; transports to work areas.
• Cleans assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties and inspects cleanliness upon completion.
• Prepares cleaning solutions according to written instructions on label.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen.
• Notifies team leader of maintenance repairs.
• Cleans and stores equipment regularly in porter closet or assigned storage area.
• Logs tasks on Interserv per policy.
