UMC Health System in Texas is seeking an Environmental Service Worker to support infection prevention by cleaning and sanitizing throughout the hospital and campuses. Reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services.

Daily duties include cleaning patient rooms, public areas, isolation rooms, and replacing sharps, with basic PPE and safety procedures. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and hospital housekeeping experience; training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year hospital housekeeping or environmental service experience preferred.
• Successful completion of 90-day training required.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Housekeeping in patient rooms and hospital areas; may involve exposure to blood and pathogens.
• Clean public areas including vacuuming, baseboards, vents, and elevators.
• Disinfect isolation rooms (TB, C-Diff, COVID-19) and handle waste.
• Exchange full sharps containers and deliver linen carts.
• Perform other Environmental Services duties as assigned.
