Overview:

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Hospital Emergency Dispatcher.

Position Status: Full Time

Location: Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital - Harrisonburg, VA

Work Shift: First (Days)

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitate emergent and non-emergent communication within the organization, including external and internal communication.
• Manage all emergency alerts, activate paging groups, contact on-call providers, and coordinate responses.
• Activate mass notifications during serious emergencies using the Sentara Emergency Notification system.
• Facilitate internal calls, including complex on-call schedules and emergent consultations between nurses and physicians.
• Assist in training new employees and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of customer service experience required, with previous call center experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare and emergency dispatching experience is a plus.
• Understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
