Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Per Diem Part-time Supervisor to lead Saint Mary’s Hospital Food and Nutrition Team. You will supervise daily operations, schedule staff, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards while collaborating with leadership on HR matters.

The role requires ServSafe certification, 1–3 years of supervision, and a strong grounding in food service management and nutrition knowledge. Per Diem rotating shifts apply at this facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• 1–3 years of food service supervisory experience.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage workflow in a food service operation.
• Ability to perform scheduling, training, recordkeeping and ensure policy adherence.
• Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy and food allergies.
• Ability to apply theory to practice and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned food service employees daily.
• Collaborates with department head on HR management, recruitment, training, coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Completes employee evaluations.
• Prepares employee work schedules and covers for absences.
• Acts as department lead in the absence of the Department Head.
• Ensures safety, sanitation and safe food handling procedures.
• Assists on patient tray line as needed (checker position).
• Maintains logs for temperatures, sanitizer tests, and sanitation inspections.
• Assists in purchasing food and non-food items for the Dietary/Nutrition Department.
• Performs diet office functions.
