Job summary

Olivia Hospital & Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Dietary Cook to support our Dietary department. The cook will prepare meals for hospital employees and patients in accordance with physician diet orders, maintaining quality and food safety standards.

This part-time role (FTE 0.6, 24 hours/week) requires good teamwork and attention to detail, with weekend rotation. Minimum age 18; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous food preparation experience preferred.
• Excellent customer services and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines types and quantities of meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus.
• Serves the correct portion sizes for all food items.
• Ensure meals are prepared and ready by anticipated times.
• Bakes, prepares, or assigns the preparation of congregate snacks.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes.
• Improves flavor and texture of food by adding ingredients or reasonings.
• Makes soups, sauces, stews, casseroles, and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Maintains kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner.
• Observes infection control, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.
