Job summary

Olivia Hospital & Clinic in west central Minnesota is seeking a Dietary Cook for the Dietary department. The position is 0.6 FTE, about 24 hours per week, 0600–1800, with every other weekend rotation.

The cook will prepare meals for patients and staff in accordance with physician diet orders and maintain high food safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and experience in food preparation, along with strong customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines types and quantities of meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus.
• Serves the correct portion sizes for all food items.
• Ensure meals are prepared and ready by anticipated times.
• Bakes, prepares, or assigns the preparation of congregate snacks.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes.
• Improves flavor and texture of food by adding ingredients or reasonings.
• Makes soups, sauces, stews, casseroles, and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Maintains kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner.
• Observes infection control, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.

Job description

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Dietary Cook to serve our Dietary department! This position will work 48-64 hours per pay period (2 weeks) with every other weekend rotation. The Dietary Cook prepares and cooks meals for hospital employees and patients in accordance with Physician diet orders. This position has a minimum age requirement of 18.
