Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and coordinate with nursing for nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to offer menu alternatives for allergies and preferences.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s selection and retrieve trays on time.
• Comply with federal, state and local health regulations and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines in handling food and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring certain diets and calorie counts.
• Communicate issues with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as required.
