Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will ensure safe, sanitary food preparation for residents and assist with serving and daily kitchen operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate; PCC knowledge is a plus. You will follow menus, prepare special diets, and maintain food temperatures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for not less than one year.
  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
  • Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
  • Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
  • Prepare special diets accurately.
  • Record food temperatures for meals.
  • Prepare pureed foods.
  • Work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
  • Assist with serving meals.
  • Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
  • Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
  • Present food appeal to residents.
  • Cooperate and supervise when needed.
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
