Job summary

Clinton Rehab and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and service in a hospital-style facility. Responsibilities include reviewing menus, planning diets, preparing meals, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring proper storage and safety in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Shift hours: Morning or Evening.

Responsibilities

• Review menu prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Assist in establishing food service production to assure meals are prepared on time.
• Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Ensure proper storage, covering and dating of food items in refrigerators.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Assist in keeping food storage areas clean and organized.
• Report hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
