Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a courier to provide transport and support for the Department of Laboratory Medicine and their clients. You will drive hospital vehicles for courier routes and on-demand jobs, maintaining schedules and ensuring timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include handling pickups and deliveries to labs, pharmacies, homecare, and clinics, documenting routes, monitoring weather, and ensuring cargo and vehicle safety.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio drivers license; must pass motor vehicle background inspection and driving qualifications.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to use hospital cell phone and tracking system.

Essential Functions

• Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily.
• Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers. Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines.
• Evaluates and monitors weather conditions throughout shift to preplan for anticipated trips and delays throughout region.
• Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle in accordance with hospital guidelines.
• Assists in training of new staff and documents their progress per department guidelines.
• Provides customer service in an efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality patient care.

Education Requirement

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Licensure Requirement

Valid Ohio driver's license as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital.
