Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. seeks a full-time Transport/Courier driver to support the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

You will operate hospital vehicles for courier routes and on-demand jobs, maintain routing schedules, and handle pickups and deliveries to labs, pharmacies, homecare, clinics, and physician offices. A valid Ohio driver’s license is required, along with motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, training, and adherence to hospital insurance guidelines.

Overview

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Provides transport and support for Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and their clients. Drives NCH provided vehicles for courier routes and on-demand jobs.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily.
• Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers. Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines.
• Evaluates and monitors weather conditions throughout shift to preplan for anticipated trips and delays throughout region.
• Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle in accordance with hospital guidelines.
• Assists in training of new staff and documents their progress per department guidelines.
• Provides customer service in an efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality patient care.

Education Requirement

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Licensure Requirement

Valid Ohio driver's license as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to use hospital provided cell phone and communication tracking system.
