Job summary

Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV, is hiring a Cook to support patient food service and dish duties under supervision. You will prepare meals for hospital patients, staff and visitors following approved recipes and appearance standards.

Full-time role at 40 hours/week with full benefits. Prior hospital or food service experience is preferred, and ServSafe certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
• Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and communicates to Director/Supervisor; assists in storage after delivery.
• Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding leftovers.
• Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and appearance standards, using garnishes when appropriate.
