Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a full-time PBX hospital operator responsible for day-to-day administration of incoming and outgoing communications, including radio and paging networks. The role monitors alarms and initiates emergency notifications while maintaining departmental records and supporting hospital-wide communications in accordance with FH standards and compliance policies.

• Diplomacy when interacting with patients, visitors, staff, physicians and coworkers.
• Excellent verbal communications to interact with callers and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Answer and direct incoming/outgoing telephone traffic.
• Handle multiple calls quickly and accurately, including physicians and nursing paging lines.
• Operate PBX console and related equipment with competence.
• Manage overhead paging, ensuring clear, accurate messages on first attempt.
• Relay radio messages and paging information to security and staff as procedures require.
• Notify appropriate personnel and agencies via paging, radio, and telephone systems; document responses.
