United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Telephone Operator to act as a central communications resource, supporting hospital operations around the clock. You will respond to paging requests for hospital personnel and physicians using overhead paging systems, pagers, and cell phones, and manage emergency codes and alarms.

The role requires reliability, calm judgment under pressure, and the ability to multitask while following procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 2 years of experience using a multi-line phone system.
• The role requires reliability, sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and emergency communications.

Responsabilités

• Respond to paging requests for hospital personnel and physicians using overhead paging, pagers and cell phones.
• Manage and monitor emergency communication systems, including codes, alarms and telephone systems, with timely response.
• Test hospital alarm and emergency systems to ensure operational readiness.
• Contact on-call staff and clergy as requested by departments.
• Coordinate distribution and setup of new telephones across the facility.
• Track and inventory pagers used by hospital personnel.
• Serve as backup information desk during off-hours.
• Act as base station for hospital security communications.
• Assist with release procedures of deceased individuals per policy and regulatory requirements.
