Job summary

System Support in Middletown, OH seeks a Chaplain to join the Spiritual Care Department as a full member of the healthcare team. The role provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff, facilitates worship opportunities, and collaborates with local faith communities.

The chaplainship requires a Master's degree in theology or pastoral care, 1–3 years of experience, and CPE credits are preferred.

Qualifications

Master's degree in theology, spiritual/pastoral care, or related field.
1–3 years of job-related experience.
4 Units Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.

Responsibilities

Assesses needs and provides patients, family members, and staff with spiritual and emotional support.
Responds to crises and referrals and supports patients and families facing difficult healthcare decisions.
Documents spiritual/pastoral support and services provided to patients and families.
Facilitates the grief process through spiritual/pastoral support, groups, and education.
Plans and facilitates prayer and liturgical/sacramental ministry opportunities for patients, families, and staff.
Cares for departmental administrative and operational tasks as assigned.
Collaborates with faith communities to enhance pastoral care of patients and families.
Participates in support groups and spiritual enrichment/educational programs.
Communicates with diverse faith leaders to coordinate care.
