Capital Health is seeking a dedicated aide to support nursing staff in a fast-paced acute care setting. The role involves patient safety, basic care tasks, specimen collection, nutrition support, and accurate documentation under RN supervision. EMT/medical assistant background or CNA preferred; AHA BLS required before orientation ends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• One year EMT, military medic, PCA in acute care or equivalent skill in long-term care, or two clinical nursing semesters completed.
• AHA BLS certification required; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.
• CNA certification preferred; Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Provides for patient safety and proper transfer techniques.
• Performs personal care tasks under RN supervision (bathing, mouth care, etc.).
• Assists with dressings, splints, stockings under RN direction.
• Collects specimens and records intake/output.
• Assists with nutrition and feeds patients, monitors tube feedings and calories.
• Documents observations and reports findings to RN.
• Assists with post-mortem care and CPR under supervision.
• Performs phlebotomy, glucometer testing, and EKGs as competency permits.
