Job summary

Capital Health is seeking dedicated nursing support staff to assist in patient care across our hospitals and outpatient centers. The role emphasizes safety, basic nursing tasks, and collaboration with RNs to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, feeding, specimen collection, and CPR under supervision. CNA or UAP training is preferred; 8-hour shifts; full-time status with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience: 1 year as EMT/military medic/PCA or two clinical nursing semesters.
• Other Credentials: AHA BLS; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.
• Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Special Training: CNA preferred or Capital Health UAP training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides for safety aspects of patient care and follows falls precautions.
• Provides personal care such as bathing, mouth care, and incontinence care under RN direction.
• Applies basic dressings and supports under RN direction.
• Collects specimens (stool, urine, sputum) timely.
• Delivers nutrition, monitors feeding, and records intake; assists with tube feedings.
• Observes and documents patient status; reports findings to RN.
• Assists with CPR under supervision of RN/Physician.
• Performs phlebotomy, glucometer testing, EKGs, and measures vitals as directed.
• Maintains clean, organized environment; supports unit operations and inventories.
