Job summary

Canteen is seeking a Café Manager at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to oversee the hospital café operations, ensure excellent guest service, maintain food safety standards, and support budget goals.

Responsibilities include inventory management, cash handling, staff coordination, and event promotion. Supervisory experience in food service is preferred; schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm with a salary of $55,000–$65,000 per year and a yearly bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory or management experience in food service, café, restaurant, hospital, or related hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cash handling procedures; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the hospital café, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, health department, and hospital standards.
• Monitor food quality, product presentation, and guest service for a positive experience.
• Manage inventory levels, place orders, and maintain stock levels.
• Perform cash handling duties, including sales monitoring, deposits, and reconciliations.
• Assist with planning and promoting café events and promotions.
• Control operating costs and waste to meet budget goals.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of kitchen and café equipment.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Complete required reports and administrative tasks on time.
