Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is actively seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist (BMS), 1st Shift (Days) to support facility operations at Clements University Hospital in Dallas. You will respond to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building system issues, performing journeyman-level work across multiple trades.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma GED or vocational school.
• 4 years of skilled or journeyman level experience including two years in two trades or crafts.

Responsibilities

• Performs plumbing, electrical, welding, mechanical, housekeeping, carpentry, and painting repairs according to service requests for assigned specialties.
• Inspects plumbing, electrical, mechanical, housekeeping, etc. in assigned buildings as scheduled by work orders.
• Maintains records and documents of work completed.
• Installs new equipment as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
