Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical building systems at Zale Lipshy Pavilion. The ideal candidate will have journeyman-level skills across HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical trades in a hospital setting.

As a key liaison between Facilities Management and customers, you will ensure reliable operations, respond to equipment issues, and work a 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM schedule

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or vocational school.
• Experience: 4 years related work experiences or journeyman level; 2 years in skilled maintenance trade (PM, DI/RO, Air, Vac).

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical, air systems, deionized water, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Proactively maintains assigned areas and consults with customers on priority of work.
• Serves as liaison between customer and Facilities Management.
• Start up, shut down and adjust equipment per safety procedures and training.
• Inspects lubrication, calibration, vibration, seals and reports deficiencies.
• Develops skills safely across crafts and performs major repairs as needed.
• Supports shift coverage, after-hours work, and assists in major repairs.
• Mentors new personnel and reads/marks up blueprints for corrections.
• Documents conditions found and acts as primary contact for Facilities Management services.
