Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Boiler Operator / Stationary Engineer to reliably operate and maintain hospital boilers and related utility systems. You will ensure continuous steam, heating, and energy services with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring boiler systems, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with central plant equipment. The role requires shift work, weekend/on-call coverage, and a focus on life-safety standards in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience operating boilers, preferably in healthcare or critical facilities.
Knowledge of boiler safety devices and steam systems.
Ability to read gauges, meters, and manuals.
Familiarity with CMMS and plant monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor boilers and related utility equipment to support hospital operations.
Record boiler pressures, temperatures, fuel use, and water chemistry in logs.
Respond to alarms and emergencies to protect life-safety systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and assist with repairs on boilers and pumps.
Coordinate boiler performance with chillers and HVAC systems.
Test and treat boiler water to maintain system chemistry.
Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and assist repairs.
Comply with safety procedures, OSHA, and healthcare life-safety standards.
Follow lockout/tagout and confined space protocols during work.
Read gauges and facility manuals to monitor performance.
Document readings and maintenance activities in logs and CMMS.
Communicate status and needs to Engineering and Facilities teams.
